WFHishNYC, the community redefining how New Yorkers work remotely is hitting the road with its newest initiative: WFHish Excursions!
This is a brand new series of curated, out-of-the-city adventures that allows people to connect with other remote workers to get out of the city for the weekend and meet new people.
These are small, curated long weekend trips for remote workers who want to get out of the city, stay productive, and meet new people all without feeling like you're on a corporate retreat or glued to your laptop the entire time. It’s a chance to mix and mingle with other people that work remotely based in New York City!
Each trip is a mix of work and play. You’ll get reliable Wi-Fi, space to focus, and time to actually get stuff done. But you’ll also get the chance to reset — maybe with a beach walk, a wine tasting, a creative workshop, or skiing once winter hits.
We’re talking cozy upstate lodges, cute coastal towns, and other escapes (near and maybe even internationally) where you can plug in when you need to and totally unplug when you don’t.
Groups will stay small (no more than 12-15 people) so it feels easy and organic to connect. This is an awesome opportunity for those of you who are freelancing, running your own thing, or just need a break from your couch (or the coffeeshop). This is your excuse to switch it up without falling behind.
Jason Baron, of Galavanteer ,will help lead this new initiative as part of WFHishNYC. His resume is impressive with over a decade of experience designing group travel programs. He’s held leadership roles at iconic travel brands including at SAS, Dan Hotels, Travel Bound, Gogo Worldwide Vacations and more.
As part of our initiative we will be working with several existing travel brands and membership groups as we build out our portfolio of options.
We will be announcing our first trip soon. Paid subscribers get first dibs on spots so sign up for that (and you’ll be supporting this awesome project which is cool too) Stay tuned for that.

WFHishNYC started in 2023 as a no-frills café review blog for remote workers and has since grown rapidly into a community. In 2024, we launched our NYC remote work map (now used by over 500,000 people) and partnered with IG creators to spread the word and build a big network of contributors.
In 2025, we joined forces with Fluxo, an app that lets you book bars and restaurants as daytime workspaces to launch a series of happy hours. We also kicked off a premium collaboration with Seven24 Collective at the Gansevoort Hotel. Our excursion program is the logical next step to bring together the remote work community.
