Hey readers,
Last week I made an appearance on Bloomberg Businessweek to discuss my latest reporting on this awesome new ski pass for smaller ski resorts called IndyPass. Anyways I got to Bloomberg’s midtown headquarters about 20 minutes early so I thought why not check out this Capital One Cafe concept everyone is talking about downstairs. I am not usually a huge fan of the over corporatization of society but this one seems to be an exception - it is midtown after all.
With a few locations, here’s what I took away from their location next to the Bloomberg offices.
Neighborhood: Midtown
Address: 731 Lexington Ave.
Seating:
Several tables for two and four people scattered throughout the spacious area
Large tables accommodating at least 8 sets of two
Several chairs spread across the space in a relaxed layout
A few nooks if you want to step away for a call
Plug Situation: Plugs are available in every corner.
Bathroom: One bathroom for customers only. No public bathroom.
Wifi: Works well, no complaints.
Noise Level: Comfortable, with a bit of background chatter. Overall, a chill and calming vibe. Honestly it reminds me of an airport lounge.
Food: A solid selection of café fare, including coffee, tea, pastries, soups, and salads.
Overall: A great spot to work and catch up on some emails — even take a phone call.
