NEIGHBORHOOD: Williamsburg
ADDRESS: 561 Lorimer
SEATING: There are several small two person tables in the front — for each there is one seat on a shared bench on the wall. The other are small stools so it’s not the most comfortable. There are some bar stools along the front window. The back is the best place to get work done. It’s a bit quieter. There is one large communal table which could seat 8 (6 comfortably). There are also two four person tables in the back.
PLUG SITUATION:There are five that look to be open for patrons and most of which are in the front section next to the small two person tables across from the coffee bar. In the back where there is a large communicable table there is one plug with four spots.
BATHROOM SITUATION: There is one intended for single person use.
NOISE LEVEL: The noise level is comfortable. It’s noisier in the front but not distracting. The back is a little quieter. In theory you could make a phone call (but please for the love of god, don’t be that guy) without picking up much background noise. It is loud enough in the space that it wouldn’t be a distracting factor.
WIFI: Works well no complaints
LIGHTING: It’s a warm coffee shop vibe. With hardwood floors and large floor to ceiling windows the front can be lit well with natural light alone on a nice day. But because it is narrow it gets a bit darker the further back you go. In the back section was warm overhead lights with golden bulbs. There are four lighting fixtures as this particular section does not have any windows.
FOOD: This is a coffee and pastries kind of place. There are a lot of options to nosh on and grab a coffee. There is a mint blueberry ice tea which I love. It’s refreshing for hot summer days like today.
OVERALL: There’s not a ton of seating options but if you can get it then it’s a great place to get some work done. While there are several locations around NYC this spot has the small local coffee shop vibe that can be oh so inspiring
