Review: Arvaci Coffee: Crown Heights
This Crown Heights Hot Spot Is A Remote Worker Paradise
Hey readers,
It’s been a few weeks. I’ve been in the midst of a fairly stressful move, so that’s been taking up the majority of my time. Shoutout to Julia and Zach at Outlive Homes, who really helped make this inherently stressful process a little bit more bearable.
Plus, we have a brand-new WFHishNYC partnership (which is frankly kind of a game-changer) in the works that will be announced soon!
This week, I discovered a place that I have to say is really a must-try for any remote worker — especially for those who live in central Brooklyn. So, without further ado, let’s talk about Arvaci in Crown Heights.
Neighborhood: Crown Heights
Seating:
8 small two-person tables
6 bar-style seating options facing a window
4 outdoor tables
1 large communal table that can sit 12 people
4 two-person couches
Plug Situation: There are a few scattered throughout the communal space, many of which are on the floor.
Bathroom: One bathroom for customers only. No public bathroom.
Wifi: Works well, with no complaints.
Noise Level: It’s fairly quiet but with a comfortable amount of background noise. It’s definitely a space that intentionally caters to remote workers.
Light: There are large floor-to-ceiling windows throughout and yellow bulb overhead lighting for a traditional coffee shop vibe. It can get a bit dark on cloudy days.
Food: There are a slew of pastry options, from pierogies and muffins (like one that's pistachio crème-filled) to even hamantaschen. Otherwise, it’s fairly standard coffeeshop fare.
Overall: This place is a remote worker's dream in the heart of Crown Heights. I’m definitely recommending it, on par with other top places I’ve visited around the city, including Nook in Bushwick, Coffee Check in Greenpoint, and even Moshava Coffee near Washington Square Park.
