Review: IC Brooklyn Cafe
This Quiet Bushwick Cafe Is A Hidden Gem That Needs To Be On Your List
Hi subscribers!
It’s been a few weeks as I’ve been away traveling. I am back to the grind (pun very much intended) now.
A few notes before I get to this week’s review:
Awesome to we’re reaching more and more people! We’ve added roughly 100 new subscribers in the last two days and our map now has coming up on 22K views and gaining close to 1000+ a day in the last week or so. Thanks for those of you spreading the word. Across platforms we’ve reached almost 30K New Yorkers at this point mostly via word of mouth!
This is a free service but it does take time. Subscribers get free merch sent to them including a WFHishNYC mug and best of all, you’ll be supporting a great resource for thousands of remote workers in New York.
Or if you want to show your support you can send a little something via Venmo
I’m also going to bring back the Coffee Break which features a wide range of interesting New Yorkers to tell you what their favorite places are. Past interviews included Teddy Siegel founder of Got2GoNYC, writer Jason Diamond, and comedian Stephanie D’Agostani and real estate influencer Christina Kremidas. If you know of a great New York icon, business owner, influencer, writer, activist etc that might be an interesting person to highlight let me know.
Now to this week’s review:
Today we are in Bushwick with an underrated favorite. This place is quiet, close to transit and has plenty of seating. Here’s the gist.
NEIGHBORHOOD: Bushwick
ADDRESS: 117 Wilson Ave (between Starr and Willoughby)
SEATING: There are several different sections here. In the front there is a stool seating facing the window. There are two tables in the front meant for two people (the side facing the center of the cafe has rocking chairs). There is one large couch and two tables for two people next to the front window.
There are two more tables by the cash register intended for two people. In the back section there are four large high tables with stool seating. These tables are big enough for four people. All but one of them though only have two stools. One of them has three. Then there is fairly large backyard.
PLUG SITUATION: Not bad. There are several in the back section and a handful in the front.
BATHROOM SITUATION: There is one in the back of the cafe near the door leading the backyard. It’s intended for one person and has a code.
NOISE LEVEL: This isn one of this place’s strong suits. It is quiet with a respectable amount of background noise. They play music which you can hear in the back however it is not, by any means, loud. The space has high ceilings but you can comfortably have a conversation without your everyone knowing your business.
WIFI: No issues. It’s fast and gets the job done.
LIGHTING: This place is very bright especially in the front. It has large floor to ceiling windows. The back is also well lit too with warm bulbed chandeliers over head.
FOOD: This place is well stocked with coffee and tea and some solid pastries. I highly recommend checking out their quiche selection. This place is best known for their smoothies and juices.
OVERALL: This is a quiet hidden gem with ample seating in the heart of Bushwick. I highly recommend this one.
